The dirty lowdown on all the past actors in the cast. For the current cast see the About Us page and for more information about the group see the easylaughs Press Page.

These are the players who have played with us in the past and have moved on to other things. We keep in contact with our old boys and girls and will often have them back as guests. Reports that when people resign, Boom Chicago kidnaps them and keeps them in a place called "Het Dorp" where they try to get the secret of improv out of them are strongly denied.

Rod Ben Zeev

Rodcrazym.JPG
Rod works as an actor and teacher and joined easylaughs in the beginning of 2006. He is a frequent guest on the Dutch TV show “Gotcha!” In his spare time he can often be seen navigating the canals of Amsterdam on the historical boat “Athena.” Rod would like to thank Ginny, Harriet, Connie, Florence, Julie Stevens, Tony Mendoza and the Chicago Transit Authority for all the fun improv times above and below ground.

Lolu Ajayi

Lolu0069.JPG
Lolu has performed and taught improvisation for more than 5 years. He began his career in Groningen and is the founding member of the House of Mangoes, a show that played weekly to packed houses. In 2003 he joined the cast of Blind Date and played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. After moving to Amsterdam and setting up house he joined easylaughs in the beginning of 2006. He is now an actor with Boom Chicago.

Herman Gambhir

Herman01.JPG
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Herman came to Amsterdam in 2002. Since then he has graduated from the International School of Amsterdam or Amstelveen and for some reason studied International Business this year at University. He keeps busy with voiceovers, rehearsals, plays, and enjoying himself in Amsterdam. The good news is that he is keen on following his dreams to becoming one of the great actors of his time... all he has to do is decide which continent to live on and let go of those damn blond beers. He is currently in Liverpool studying at the famous performing school there.

Rick Phelps

Rick.jpg
Rick spent three years with easylaughs. A native of the USA, he now lives in Amsterdam which made it a lot easier to make to the shows every Friday night.

Anna Greaves

Annasingsm.JPG
Anna was a member of easylaughs from 2004 until 2006. She still also performed with Stage Invaders. Anna is into all creative things especially; baking cakes, painting, building flat-pack furniture, making noise, sculpting stuff from old bar mats and of course, improv. She sells her oil paintings for a living and spends most of her time laughing a little too loudly.

Annelies van Dam

Annelies01.JPG
Annelies grew up in Montreal, where she first started doing improv, or l’improvisation, in French. She then moved to Groningen, where she switched to Dutch improv, or improvisatie. She now lives in Amsterdam, and performs improv, or improv, in English. Annelies has performed in several theatre productions and recently appeared naked in a national tv-commercial.

Mark Giesbers

Marklooks.jpg

Mark got his first taste of improv comedy at a workshop years ago and has performed with Problem Solved and easylaughs since 2003 - winning a Boom Chicago Improv Battle with his team-mates along the way. He has worked as a cheese packager, metal worker, book salesman, telesales goon, crop dust trainee and Golden Cage inhabitant before ending up in the telecoms industry again - although his family still thinks he 'works in computers somewhere'. He has survived 16 years in Amsterdam without owning a bike, will unleash his inner German if you ask him nicely. He is an avid sesquipedalian.

Steve Alexander (Musician)

Musician Steve
Steve is a musician turned improviser turned improv musician. His musical development began when his favorite toy, a Happy Apple, found its way into his crib. After studying music at university, he was in a band called Monkeybucket, in which he wrote and performed rock songs, comically. Steve plays piano, guitar, ukelele, theremin, cajon, and kalimba, and has been heard throat singing. Yes, throat singing. Just buy him a beer and ask.
