Service Description
Take the chance to learn longform musical improv with veteran musical improvisers Lee Apsey & Emma Wessleus, as well as sought-after musical improv pianist and music director David Rees, from London: home of the musical mecca that is the West End. Broaden your musical horizons and sharpen your skills beyond the standard improv musical as you learn how to create work like Hamilton, Wicked and Waitress, right on the spot! You'll also develop longform narrative techniques to create a deeper, more exciting and musically diverse show. No script or score needed! The course is 1 week with a graduation performance on June 9th, 2023! Am I intermediate enough? Is this course for me? If you haven’t done our intermediate genres course, Emma & Lee will contact you to make sure this course fits your current level of musical improv! About the Instructors: Lee Apsey has been performing and teaching across Europe and Asia for 8 years since coming into improv from a background in screenwriting and film production. He is a co-founder of CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation: a five star show that has consistently sold out the Edinburgh Fringe, Brighton Fringe and its London home at the Museum of Comedy for over half a decade. He is also the co-director of timeline-hopping musical Multiverse and performs as part of live hip hop show Slice of Rhyme. Emma Wessleus is a Singer, Improviser, Comedian and a former cast member of easylaughs. David Rees David is a pianist and composer who loves playing for improvised theatre. He has played at shows and festivals around the UK and beyond with groups including Multiverse, Music Box, Bumper Blyton and Yes Queens.
