Service Description

Taught by Peter More. When you sign-up for a course, you get free entry to our Friday shows and our Sunday workshops. That's a savings of €30 per week! The earlier you sign-up, the earlier you save! **Don't wait to sign-up! If we do not have enough sign-ups one week before class starts, we will have to cancel and refund those who have already signed up. *** Humans are good at telling stories, we've been doing it for AGES. The story teaches us about the people and world around us, helping to make sense of it all. We can find a story in our books, movies, songs, news, Ted Talks, tweets, feeds, drunken WhatsApps and Tinder profiles. In this course, we will pay homage to the story through the lens of improvisation. Once upon a time there was an improviser who wanted to focus on storytelling. And one day, that improviser signed up for Scene & Story Structure. And then the improviser told stories happily ever after. The story doesn't end there! Your graduation show will showcase all the storytelling skills you learned over the 8 weeks. Friends and family will be stunned, they'll think it's all scripted. You'll know it's all improv ;-) Enjoy FREE entry to easylaughs Friday shows and Sunday workshops for the duration of your course. All courses and workshops are in English and in Amsterdam. Please note: You should take at least two improv basics classes (or equivalent) before taking this intermediate class. We recommend you take all three of our basics courses before signing up to an intermediate class. Email info@easylaughs.nl if you have any questions about whether this class is for you. In Scene & Story Structure you will: -learn the importance of storytelling in improvisation -explore thematic forms, genres and devices used to create story-based games and scenes -examine the relationship between stories and improv scene structure -work as a team to clearly define the beginning, middle and end of a story -learn to use time jumps, split screens and various editing styles to tell more compelling stories -learn how to let your stories organically develop after building a good foundation -learn how to listen better to see what the story needs, where it wants to go -learn to be more playful with your storytelling -stun the audience with your storytelling skills at your graduation performance on March 21st!
