IN THE WILD - Improv - Shortform - Basics

Shortform improv consists of short scenes usually constructed from a predetermined game, structure, or idea and driven by an audience suggestion, so says the Wikipedia article on Improvisation theatre.

We define Shortform as tons of silly good improv fun! It’s been AGES since you Yes-And-ed in someone’s face. This class is the perfect way to refamiliarize yourself with the art of making stuff up AND have a laugh along the way.

If you’ve taken our Improvisation Level 1 or In the Wild - Improv - Basics (or higher), you’re good to go, sign-up and grease those improv wheels! If you’re completely new to improv, try out a couple of FREE easyroo sessions and tell your trainer you are fresh meat.

4-weeks will fly by! In Shortform - Basics you will:

• Practice acting on intuition, with the first thing that comes to mind
• Learn to let your imagination lead the way
• Learn how to ‘find the game’
• Collaborate with fellow players and get to the funny together
• Surprise yourself, take risks and make mistakes
• Enter the blissful world of a liminal space

We’ve been running outdoor sessions with small groups and it’s been a blast. Exercises and games are chosen so we can continue to be safe and have fun. We’ll keep a max of 8 people to make sure everyone gets a lot of playing time. Feel free to bring a drink and a snack for the after-workshop-hang!

If you’re used to Amsterdam weather, you know the drill, prepare for all types of weather. Our outside locations have covered spots nearby. Rain, sleet or snow won’t stop us, we are all-weather improvisers! Ok, well, if the trams stop running and things start flooding, the end is nigh, we’ll cancel.

• and you cancel up to one week before the start, you will receive a voucher in the amount you paid. The voucher can be applied to any of our services and is valid for 6 months.
