This workshops starts at 12pm (CET, Amsterdam Timezone).
Whether you rap everyday or you've never even tried, learn to flow like water in this joyful intensive. You'll learn exercises and techniques that will enable you to let go, be present and surprise yourself with the spontaneous raps you create.
The workshop goes from the very basics all the way to trying out the showstopping set pieces used by professional freestylers in a fun and supportive environment. The workshop lasts 2 hours and includes foundational vocal health techniques that you should be doing before any kind of performance: protect your voices and project your choices!
After the session, there is an optional and complementary hour of free space for attendees to play and perform with the instructors, ask questions, try out ideas and enjoy the freedom of making rhymes together.
About the Instructors:
Lee Apsey has been performing and teaching across Europe and Asia for 8 years since coming into improv from a background in screenwriting and film production. He is a co-founder of CSI: Crime Scene Improvisation: a five star show that has consistently sold out the Edinburgh Fringe, Brighton Fringe and its London home at the Museum of Comedy for over half a decade. He is also the co-director of timeline-hopping musical Multiverse and performs as part of live hip hop show Slice of Rhyme. His other work includes award winning feature films and TV pilots, as well as a multi-million viewership across online projects.
Emma Wessleus is a Singer, Improviser, Comedian and a former cast member of easylaughs. She has studied Opera at Stockholm Operastudios, Classical Singing at Amsterdam Conservatory and Musical Theatre at Associated studios in London. She's an experienced Improviser and comedian and currently a member of the timeline-hopping improvised musical Multiverse and a co-founder of the improvised scandi crime drama Mordsaga. At the moment she lives in London where she works as a music specialist for a big streaming platform as well as a vocal coach and improviser.
