Sketches are the exploration of a simple idea we call the premise. In a very short time and with very little information, we create a universe with concrete rules, just to break them for the lulz. A good premise not only elicits laughter but also inspires your imagination while developing it.

This 3-hour online workshop is all about how premises work, what kinds of premises there are, and the basic structure of sketches. Through analyzing examples, creative games and writing exercises, you’ll get the basic toolbox to start writing sketch comedy!

Fer is an Argentinian filmmaker, comedian and actor. He has more than ten years of experience onstage acting and performing comedy. He created the sketch comedy series Ctrl+JETA for Cablevisión Argentina, which was nominated for three big awards (big in Argentina). He writes and ilustrates humorous cartoons on Instagram, in @unperrovegano (he’s starting the English version in @onevegandog). He teaches sketch comedy writing and directing workshops.
