Yes and Your Body- Movement Skills

We always say "Yes and," in improv, but do we say it also with our bodies? Very often, we bring our minds to our scenes, but we leave our bodies behind. Yet, it's estimated that in a conversation, 65% of the communication is non-verbal. This workshop will help you to feel more in tune with your body and to be ready to open up and take the space!   

We will use physical theatre exercises and dance research tools to find new movement possibilities. 

We will explore free movement through different inputs: sensations, music, restrictions, intensity, etc.

 We will not learn specific moves or choreography, it's not about the shape or the accuracy, but about the research.   

This workshop is for you if: - You want to learn new tools to get your body more active and available. - You are curious about your body and want to explore out of the box.  - You are willing to sweat a little bit =)  

No dance experience is required. Please bring comfortable clothing.

Violeta was born and raised in Madrid, and is 1568 millimeters tall. Half dancer, half architect, half comedian... and full mathematician! Her sister says that she was born talking and her parents said that she'd never stay still. The truth is that she devours chocolate and olives, and at one point during her childhood she must have put her fingers in a power socket. She has lived in Amsterdam since 2016 but has managed to only get her bike stolen once.
