Service Description

In this beloved improv format, storytellers spin true tales to inspire a series of improvised scenes. Back in the improv day, Armando Diaz created this format, loved it, then put his name on it. And now it’s your chance to have a go! A monologist (posh word for storyteller) opens their heart and weaves the stories of their life, sometimes getting inspiration from one word, sometimes from the improv scenes played between stories. It’s a beautiful mash-up of true stories and inspired, imaginative improv. After the fun-filled 8-weeks, you’ll make Mr. Diaz proud in your very own graduation show! Enjoy FREE entry to easylaughs Friday shows and Sunday workshops for the duration of your course. All courses and workshops are in English and in Amsterdam. Please note: Before taking this advanced course, you should take at least two intermediate classes (or equivalent). Email info@easylaughs.nl if you have any questions about whether this class is for you. In Armando you will: -practice making connections from a one-word suggestion to your true story -work on your storytelling skills to deliver concise, detailed, impactful stories -discover the stories you love telling and the triggers that get you improvising -sharpen your active listening and identify the unusual, quirky, interesting aspects of a story -play scenes inspired by stories as opposed to reenacting -learn to be clear about your intentions and ideas so fellow players can contribute effectively -celebrate and share you-being-you through the stories you tell and the improv you play -entertain the audience with your long-form skills at your graduation performance on May 27th, 2022! COVID-19 Restrictions: In case of a future lockdown, if necessary, this course will go online.
