An amateur theatre group hopes to make it big one day. Follow them through their early script readings, chaotic rehearsals and finally, their opening night. Surely stardom is just around the corner! Imagine you are IN this amateur theater group and together, you create your own play! It will look like it’s scripted but it’s all improvised. In this 4-week advanced course, you will work on compelling characters and relationships, improvising scripted text and learning to deliver the final perfomance with the confidence of a theater actor. This is advanced improv course is limited to 8 participants and is designed for experienced improvisers looking to develop their skills and learn a longform format. In The Play you will: -learn how to maintain the same character throughout -discover and highlight your character’s story arc -practice how to effectively endow your fellow scene partners -learn how to manage multiple offers from different players -slow your improv down and deepen active listening to ensure players are on the same page -improvise a ‘whole’ freakin’ play! -perform with great drama in your graduation show on May 29th!!!
