Service Description

When you sign-up for a course, you get free entry to our Friday shows and our Sunday workshops. That's a savings of €25 per week! The earlier you sign-up, the earlier you save! **Please note: this course requires a minimum of 6 participants before this class can start. If we do not have enough sign-ups a week before class starts, we will cancel and issue a full refund. ** Is this course for me? Well, let's see: Do you enjoy improv? Acting? A little bit of writing? Even roleplay games? Do you crack up at those funny little videos on social media with characters doing absurd things? Do you like to have LOTS of fun? If the answer to any of these questions is YES, then this course is for you. Sketch comedy? What's that? Sketches are short fictional scenes that happen to be funny-hence, the 'comedy.' You must have seen them on-stage as well as on-screen. Think of SNL skits, Monty Python, I Think You Should Leave, Portlandia, Big Train, etcetera, etcetera. What I'm in for? You're in for a treat! These classes combine improv techniques and stage and screen comedy writing. Every class will have four stages: ANALYZE We will study some great sketches to unravel the secret mechanisms that make them awesome. PLAY We will put those mechanisms into play with improv games to develop new scenes. WRITE We will put the ideas we found with the improv games on paper and develop scenes that follow a comedic structure. REHEARSE Once we have our sketches on paper, it's time to go back to acting mode. Rehearsing is the best way of editing and polishing our scenes! This course in numbers 8 classes 2 hours per class 1 Grad show to showcase our best scenes! Friday, Nov. 11 Hope to see you there! COVID-19 Restrictions: If necessary in case of a future lockdown, this course will go online.
